COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Air Force women's soccer team surrendered a trio goals, falling 3-0 to New Mexico at Washburn Field on the Colorado College campus. The Falcons conclude the 2006 with a 3-12-4 overall and 0-5-2 conference record.
With the win, New Mexico sealed up a spot in the Mountain West Conference tournament and improves to 8-6-4, 2-2-3.
New Mexico got on the board in the 21st minute, as Eryn Paetz scored from 18 yards off a penalty kick. The Lobos extended their led to 2-0 before the half, as Bridgette Sanchez scored off a pass from Hannah Hand in the 36th minute.
UNM tacked on another goal in the 85th minute as Markee Nobriga scored off a pass from Hand to make it 3-0.
Air Force had nine shots in the game. Rachael Emory had three shots to lead the team. Erin Wallace recorded one save in the loss at goalkeeper.
The match was moved to CC's field due to 15 inches of snowfall at the Academy on Thursday making the Cadet Soccer Stadium unplayable on Friday and Saturday.
Prior to the match, the Falcons honored their seven seniors as part of senior day festivities. Seniors Erin Fitzpatrick, Melinda Mokos, Ashley Parker, Brittney Perkowski, Katherine Plichta, Lindsay Temes and Alison Wood played in their final match for the Falcons.
