Kraay earns conference special teams player of the week

John Beck (BYU), Ray Bass (San Diego State) and Robert Kraay (Air Force) are Mountain West Conference Players of the Week for games through Nov. 11. Beck earns the Offensive Player of the Week honor, while Bass garners the Defensive Player award and Kraay receives Special Teams recognition. This is Beck's eighth career weekly honor and fifth of the season, while Bass and Kraay are a first time weekly award winners. Kraay is the first offensive lineman in league history to capture a player of the week award. He is the fifth Falcon to earn the award this season. Kicker Zach Sasser is a two-time winner of the special teams award, while quarterback Shaun Carney is a two-time offensive POW honoree. Safety Julian Madrid and linebacker Drew Fowler have won the defensive honor this season.
OFFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
JOHN BECK, BYU

Senior quarterback John Beck had a completion percentage of 76.9, connecting on 20-of-26 attempts for 313 yards in BYU's 55-7 victory over Wyoming. Beck also had two touchdown completions and two rushing touchdowns to help the Cougars secure at least a share of the MWC title. Beck became the Mountain West Conference all-time passing leader with 9,807 yards, surpassing the 9,684 yards by Casey Bramlet during his career at Wyoming (2000-03).
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
RAY BASS, SAN Diego STATE

Junior strong safety Ray Bass, starting in place of the injured Brett Sturm, was San Diego State's leading tackler with a career-high eight solo stops in the 21-7 win against UNLV. Bass' tackle total doubled his previous career high. He also recorded his first career interception in the first quarter and returned it 49 yards for a touchdown to give the Aztecs and early 7-0 advantage. Bass also recorded one tackle for a loss and one pass breakup in the game.
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Robert Kraay, air force
Senior, Offensive Tackle, Tucker, Ga./Tucker
Senior offensive tackle Robert Kraay blocked two Notre Dame extra point attempts in Air Force's 39-17 loss to the Irish. Kraay became the first Falcon since Justin Pendry against Tennessee Tech in 2001 to block two kicks in a game.
