Loyola-Marymount swept all nine matches Monday and defeated Air Force, 7-0, in a Division I men's tennis match in Los Angeles. The Falcons, who fell to 0-3 this season, were unable to win a set against the Lions.
LMU took an early 1-0 lead by winning all three doubles matches. Nico Terrien and Jacek Twarowski took the No. 1 match, downing Falcon seniors Robby Alexander and Ryan White, 8-5. Sam Tadevosian and Javier Royo follwed suit at the No. 2 spot, winning 8-3 over sophomore Brett Rodgers and freshman Mike Youn. LMU completed the sweep when Matt Phillips and Renzo Maggi beat AFA's duo of senior Keith Cronican and freshman James Tomlin, 8-6, at No. 3.
The Falcons could not gain any momentum back in the singles matches, where LMU won all six in straight sets. Terrien got things rolling with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Alexander at the No. 1 spot. The closest match was at No. 3 singles, where Reyniere Roxas downed Youn, 6-3, 6-3.
