Rifle team finished first versus VMI and The Citadel

Charleston, S.C. - The Air Force rifle team competed last weekend at the NCAA Air Rifle and Smallbore matches at the Citadel Marksmanship Center in Charleston, S.C. In Air rifle, Air Force finished first ahead of VMI and The Citadel. The Falcons finished second in the smallbore match behind VMI. AFA, VMI and The Citadel were scheduled to shoot on Saturday, but due to a sudden illness to one of the Air Force shooters, the Falcons fired their entire competition on Sunday.
Air Force finished first in air rifle with a score of 2291. VMI came in second with a score of 2209. The Bulldogs' coed team ended up third with a mark of 2194 and the women's team was fourth with a 2128.
In smallbore, VMI finished first in the match with a score of 2197 while Air Force had a mark of 2153. The Citadel men's team placed third with a score of 2060 and the women's squad finished fifth after firing 1816.
