Rifle team loses to Nevada-Reno

The rifle team lost the match against Nevada-Reno, 4587-4485, on Sunday at the Academy. Air Force scored 2308 in air rifle and 2177 in smallbore for the aggregate score. Nevada-Reno had 2322 points in air rifle and 2265 in smallbore.
In air rifle, AFA's top shooters were Brian Jarrell, who scored a personal best 584/600. Jon Stephenson finished the day with a PR 569, while Rachael Arthur scored a PR 564. Justin Raines rounded out the team score of 2308 adding 569 points.
In smallbore, Chelsea Welsh was the Falcons' top finisher with a 556. Stephenson followed with a 546, while Raines scored 539 and Jarrell had a 536 for the team score of 2177.
Individually in air rifle, Nick Krieger shot a 575 personal best, Tom Chandler had a 578, Joe Ritt, 572, and Robert Vasquez scored 562 points. Chandler also scored a 563 in smallbore while Krieger had a 551.
Reno's top shooters were Jessica Klatt (590) in air rifle and Meghann Morrill (568) smallbore.
