Andrew Henke scored 15 points and Keith Maren added a career-high 14 Wednesday to lead the Air Force men's basketball team to a 73-49 victory over Western State College at Clune Arena. The Falcons improved to 3-0 for the second consecutive season and won its 37th consecutive home game against non-conference opponents. The Falcons jumped out to an early 25-9 lead, sparked by a pair of three-pointers by Henke, who was 6-for-8 from the field in tying his season-high for points. Western State, behind two 3-pointers by Steve Pennetti and one by Carleton Goggins, cut the lead to 25-18, but Air Force went on a 16-8 run, including five points by Maren, to end the half and take a 41-26 advantage at halftime. Maren scored nine of his 14 points in the first half.
Pennetti led the Mountaineers with a game-high 24 points on 8-of-12 shooting from beyond the arc. His eight three-pointers was one shy of the Clune Arena record of nine. Pennetti also added five rebounds. Steven Hudson had nine points, five assists and four steals for Western State.
