Rifle team scores a win in Philadelphia

Philadelphai, Pa. -- In Sunday's match between Air Force and the University of Sciences in Philadelphia, the Falcons' rifle team out-shot USP 4532-4287. The USP women's team trailed Air Force with an aggregate 3707.
In smallbore, the Falcons scored 2231 points followed by USP's 2116, while the USP women's squad scored a 1733. In air rifle, Air Force tallied 130 points higher than USP (2171) to finish with an aggregate 2301 points. The USP women's squad finished with 1974 points.
Air Force's top shooters were Chelsea Welsh, a junior from Falcon, Colo., who scored 572 in smallbore and a 574 in air rifle. Thomas Chandler, a freshman from Oak Harbor, Wash., scored 549 in smallbore and 575 in air rifle. Junior Brian Jarrell, Lufkin, Texas, shot a 551 in smallbore and 579 in air rifle. Justin Raines,team captain from Knoxville, Tenn., pulled in a 559 in smallbore and 573 in air rifle.
