AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (AP) -- Adam Hood scored a career-high 16 points and Air Force ended a four-game losing skid with a 77-53 win over Prairie View A&M on Saturday.
With Tim Anderson nailing a pair of 3-pointers, Keith Maren converting a tip-in, and Matt Holland sinking a shot from beyond the arc, the Falcons (6-4) broke open a tight game with an 11-1 run to open the second half.
While Prairie View's field-goal shooting cooled off from a 57.7 first-half percentage, Air Force never looked back, maintaining a double-digit lead through the remainder of the contest.
Hood, going 8-of-9 from the free throw line, led Air Force in scoring. Anderson finished with 15 points, and Maren and Holland each had 11. Holland's 11 also was a career high.
Air Force had taken the early lead in an up-and-down opening half with numerous lead changes. With Aaron Smith nailing three consecutive 3-pointers for Prairie View (2-5) and Dorian McDaniel adding nine points down the stretch, the Falcons' lead at the intermission was 38-37.
McDaniel led Prairie View scorers with 11 points, and Johnny Cobb had 10. Smith finished with 9, but was scoreless in the second half.
