FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Air Force senior Brian Walsh is currently in 14th following the first day of heptathlon action at the 2007 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Fayetteville, Ark. Walsh accounted for 2894 points during the first four events which were held Friday, March 9, at the Randal Tyson Indoor Track Center.

Walsh's best finish of the day came in the long jump, where he recorded a distance of 22'9" to finish seventh. In addition, he clocked a time of 7.21 in the 60-meter dash to finish 11th and picked up a pair of 12th-place marks in the shot put (39'6") and high jump (6'1¼").

Action wraps up for Air Force's lone competitor tomorrow morning with the final three events. The 60-meter hurdles are slated to begin at 11 a.m. (CST) and will be followed by the pole vault and 1000-meter run.
