Falcons Drop 7-0 Decision to No. 70 Utah

The Air Force men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to 70th-ranked Utah Saturday morning at the Academy. The Utes improved to 12-9 and 2-3 in the Mountain West Conference, while the Falcons fell to 11-12 overall and 0-3 in league play.
Utah led 1-0 after winning the doubles point by taking two of the three matches. Air Force's No. 2 team of freshmen Brett Rodgers and Austin Francis posted the Falcons' lone win of the day, downing Jason Smits and Othman Zerouali-Ouariti, 8-6. Utah's Zach ganger and Miron Mann defeated seniors Robby Alexander and Ryan White, 8-0, at No. 1, while Timmy Allin and Wes hancock won the No. 3 match over AFA's Keith Cronican and James Tomlin, 8-5.
Utah held the momentum throughout singles play, sweeping all six matches in straight sets. Ganger opened with a 6-4, 6-2, victory over Alexander at the top spot and Hancock followed suit a t No. 2, beating Rodgers, 6-3, 6-0.
The Falcons head to Fort Worth, Texas next week for their final three regular-season matches. The weekend begins against host TCU on Friday, April 13 at 6 p.m.
