Falcon Stadium Facility Improvement Plan The Directorate of Athletics has a multi-million dollar renovation plan for Falcon Stadium. The renovation plan will improve nearly every area of Falcon Stadium and make it one of the premier venues in the nation. The goal of the project is to provide a first class facility that enhances the game-day experience for all fans, staff, cadets, players and the Colorado Springs community. Falcons fans will see the most benefit. Restroom facilities, food service and novelty sales and support amenities like first aid and storage and security will increase from just over 16,000 square feet to over 91,000 square feet, an increase of over 75,000 square feet. Team facilities to include locker rooms, coaches' rooms, training and medical facilities as well as all visiting facilities will move from about 6,400 square feet to more than 14,000 square feet, an improvement of over 7,800 square feet. The Falcon Stadium press box will also dramatically increase. The existing facility of suites press area, coach's boxes and stadium operations will move from 42,500 square feet to more than 137,000 square feet. Some of the over 94,000 square feet of improved room will include eight new club suites at 300 square feet each and 239 new club seats. The total cost projection for the entire renovation includes a low end and high end projection with both minimum and maximum impact. The low end concept total project cost for a minimum impact is $58,340,000 while the maximum impact is $64,760,000. The high end projection with minimum impact is $69,950 while the maximum impact is $77,050,000. Falcon's Nest The Falcon's Nest is a 5,200 sq. ft. hospitality center for the Cadet Field House located over the existing Falcon Sports Gift Shop. The project creates an enclosed space for approximately 160 occupants, allowing simultaneous viewing of events in the basketball, ice hockey and multi-purpose (indoor track and field area) arenas. Amenities include fixed arena seating, moveable tables and chairs, buffet accommodations, restrooms and storage. The project is fully designed and is estimated at $1,500,000. This ideal facility would host various clubs and corporate sponsors.
