Air Force Head Coach Troy Calhoun
"It is a quality win. To see the way [TCU] responded on five days [between games] too, where they have to play back to back road games, that's a bear for them. You never even hear a whisper of an alibi on their part. Candidly, to go play in Austin five days ago and then have to turn right back around , you see how hard their kids fought and how well-prepared they were. That's a credit to their players and their coaches."
On the attempted onside kick: "The onside kick wasn't a terrible call, it was just one that we needed to hit a little better. We just felt at that point, it was 17-10, about 7:15 remaining, we had it ready to roll last week. I wouldn't pull the trigger on it last week, especially on a harder surface. If we feel that something's there, when the time's right, we take our shot."
On the fourth-and-one touchdown play: "We did a little bit tendency-wise on third and fourth and short, running inside, either with a tailback or fullback. Again, TCU was extremely well-prepared, and they were tacked down in there. We had the opportunity to get the ball on the perimeter and once we did, we were in pretty decent shape. We had it sealed off--Chad Hall had enough of the safety, and Ryan Williams had a little bit of the corner. Jim Ollis had a little bit of speed there, too."
TCU Coach Gary Patterson
"Bottom line is you go to someone else's house you got to go take the game...But I give Air Force all the credit...They are the ones that made the plays at the end of the game."
"Bottom line we didn't do enough things...we didn't get the ball in the end zone. When you get kicks blocked, give up long runs, long plays, you aren't going to win very many ball games."
