Air Force Defeats Prairie View in Four Games

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas - The Air Force volleyball team snapped its three-match losing streak with a gritty 3-1 victory over Prairie View, the host of the Lady Panther Invitational, on Saturday (Sept. 15) in Prairie View, Texas. Backed by sophomore Katie Batchelder's 21 kills and 18 digs, the Falcons won with 30-20, 26-30, 30-27, 30-22 scores.
Batchelder, who missed last night's match due to injury, responded with 21 kills, 18 digs and two service aces. In fact, her kill total was the best of all participants on both sides of the net.
Air Force also received double-digit kill totals from freshman Nichole Stilwell and sophomore Michelle Harrington. Stilwell accounted for 16 kills, behind a .484 hitting percentage, while Harrington posted up 12 kills and a pair of solo blocks. Senior Kim Kallabis served as the primary setter for most of the match, accounted for 54 assists and one service aces. In addition, Kallabis and classmate Morgan Dolan each recorded 16 digs.
The Falcons conclude action at the Lady Panther Invitational this afternoon (Sept. 15) with a match against Texas Southern.
