Air Force Travels To San Diego State and UNLV
The Air Force women's soccer team hits the road for a pair of Mountain West Conference matches at San Diego State and UNLV Oct. 17 & 19. The Falcons take on the Aztecs on Friday, Oct. 17 and the Rebels on Sunday, Oct. 19.

Last Week
Air Force dropped a pair of MWC conference matches last week. The Falcons lost 1-0 last Friday to New Mexico. The lone score of the match came in the 69th minute. On Sunday, the Falcons could not hold a 1-0 lead as #29 TCU responded with three goals in a 13 minute span to win 3-1. The Falcons went ahead 1-0 just two minutes into the match on a goal from Roni Yadlin. TCU got on the board in the 60th minute and then took the lead with another score in the 64th. The Horned Frogs added an insurance goal in the 73rd minute.

Freshman Bridgett Murphy leads Air Force with six goals scored for 12 points. Senior Roni Yadlin is second on the team with four goals and nine points.

Air Force freshman forward Bridgett Murphy leads the Falcons with six goals scored on the season and has scored a goal in three of the Falcons' last four games. Her six goals scored on the season are the most by a Falcon since 2001 and the most by a freshman since Jennifer Rowland scored seven in 2001.
One of Nation's Youngest Teams
Air Force has 16 freshmen on its roster. That total makes up 64 percent of the roster. The Falcons have started six freshmen eight times this year and at least five freshmen in 12 of 13 games.
Falcons Split Goal Keeping Duties
With a goalkeeper-by-committee approach, Air Force has started three goalkeepers so far this season. Junior Ashlee Curtis has made six starts and logged 559:43 minutes in front of the net and has a 1.29 goals-against average. Senior Erin Wallace has made four starts and logged 301:02 minutes and has a 1.79 GAA. Freshman Ariana Green has started the last three matches for Air Force, and has a 1.43 GAA in 315 minutes played. The three have combined to record 55 saves and post a 1.45 GAA.
Scouting The Opponents
San Diego State is 4-8-2, 0-3 entering the weekend after dropping road matches at Utah and BYU. Sophomore midfielder Cat Walker leads the team with five goals and 11 points. Sophomore Aubree Southwick has logged 1,158 minutes in front of the net for the Aztecs and has a 1.63 GAA.
UNLV is 9-5-1 entering the weekend after dropping road matches at BYU and Utah. Sophomore forward Ashleigh Shoughro leads the team with eight goals and four assists for 20 points. Junior Alicia Lugo has logged 1,255 minutes in front of the net for the Rebels and has a 0.93 GAA.

Marty Buckley is in his 17th year as the head coach at Air Force. The 1978 Chico State (CA) grad. has a 113-191-19 record at the Academy.
Mike Friesen is in his second year as head coach at San Diego State. The 1996 Sonoma State grad. has a 13-16-5 record as a head coach.
Katherine Mertz is in her fourth year as head coach at UNLV. The 1998 NC State grad. has a 42-28-12 record as a head coach.
