Air Force Drops 1-0 Match At Wyoming

LARAMIE, Wyo. - Laine Hubbard's goal in the 65th minute lifted Wyoming to a 1-0 win over Air Force in Mountain West Conference women's soccer action Friday afternoon at the Madrid Sports Complex. The loss drops the Falcons to 3-8, 1-0 and improved Wyoming to 6-5-1, 1-0.
Hubbard, a Monument native and a Lewis-Palmer High School graduate--located just miles from the USAFA campus--scored from 45 yards out.
Air Force struggled to get its offense going, getting out-shot 16-4. Freshman Bridgett Murphy led the Falcons with three shots. Murphy and Susan Finch had the two lone shots on goal for AFA.
Freshman Ariana Green made her first career start in goal for the Falcons, recording five saves. Jamie Scarcliffe had two saves in front of the net for Wyoming.
Air Force returns to action next Friday, Oct. 10, hosting New Mexico.
