Air Force Concludes Competition at Wolf Pack Classic

RENO, Nev. - Turning in its best round on Tuesday, the Air Force golf team placed 12th at the Wolf Pack Classic, hosted by Nevada at the 7,100-yard, par-72 Wolf Run Golf Course. The Falcons, who fired a 289 in the final round, finished with a three-round total of 883 (+19).
Once again, junior Tom Whitney (La Quinta, Calif.) was the top performer for the Falcons, tying for 10th place individually at 213 (-3). It marked Whitney's third top-10 finish in four outings this season. Sophomore Aaron White (Hereford, Texas) finished next in the individual standings, tied for 42nd at 222, while senior Shaun O'Bryant (Colorado Springs, Colo.) finished one stroke behind after firing a 69 in the third round.
Senior Andrew Gibson (San Ramon, Calif.) finished tied for 50th place at 226, while sophomore Kyle Bailey (Austin, Texas) finished 74th in the individual standings. Also competing as an individual was junior Peter Guzowski (Tiffin, Ohio), who placed 75th overall.
New Mexico State captured the team title with a score of 847 (-17). Meanwhile, Wichita State's Dustin Garza won medalist honors, with a three-round total of 205 (-11).
The Falcons return to action Oct. 20-21 at the Sycuan Collegiate Invitational, hosted by San Diego State.
