AFA Fencers Conclude NAC Juniors Tournament

USAF Academy, Colo. - The Air Force Academy fencers competed in the North American Cup "B" Juniors competition in St. Louis, Mo., this past weekend, Nov. 8-10. Junior Daniel Trapani from Houston, Texas, finished seventh among 193 men's individual epee competitors. Freshman Simone Barrette from Louisville, Ky., took 14th in women's individual epee in the field of 125 fencers.
Also competing in the NAC tournament was freshman Ben Rinaldi from Pittsburgh, Pa., who finished 72 in men's epee. Ballen Linden, a freshman from Sky Valle, Calif., competed in men's epee and finished tied for 167th place. In men's individual foil, sophomore Nick Stockdale from Lansdowne, Pa., took 45th place among 166 fencers. Also competing in foil was sophomore Daniel Fang from Duluth, Ga. Fang finished in 115th place, while freshman Phil Choy, from Singapore, tied for 156th place.
The fencing team will travel to California for the 2008 Western Invitational, Nov. 22-23. On Dec. 12-14, the NAC Division I tournament will be held at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs.
