Falcons Drop 1-0 Match To Valparaiso

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - The Air Force women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 match to Valparaiso Sunday afternoon at the Cadet Soccer Stadium. The Falcons drop to 0-3 on the season while the Crusaders improved to 2-1.
Jackie Kondratko scored the lone goal of the match in th 60th minute. Laura Murphy sent in a corner kick that AFA goalkeeper Ashlee Curtis punched out. Kondratko was the first to reach the ball, heading it back into the net for the score.
Air Force was on the offensive for much of the match again, but failed to score for the second-straight game. The Falcons held a 15-9 advantage in shot attempts and 7-4 advantage in corner attempts.
Freshman Bridgett Murphy led the team with four shot attempts, two on goal. Junior Susan Finch, senior Rachael Emory and freshman Ashley Sikora had two shot attempts.
Curtis took the loss for the Falcons, registering four saves. Valpo keeper Mele Cabral had four saves as well.
The Falcons look to get things back on track next weekend with two more home matches. Air Force hosts Ball State on Friday, Sept. 5 (6 p.m.) and Long Island on Sunday, Sept. 7 (11 a.m.).
