Former Air Force assistant football coach passes recently

Leland Kendall, former Air Force football assistant coach for 15 years, passed away earlier this week in Tulsa, Okla. He was 75.
Kendall coached at the Academy from 1964-77. He was the offensive line coach from 1964-68, defensive line coach from 1969-75 and defensive coordinator from 1976-77. He coached under the legendary Ben Martin.
Kendall, a 1954 Oklahoma State graduate, helped the Falcons to the 1971 Sugar Bowl and was on the staff when Air Force picked up its 100th career win in 1976.
He also coached at Oklahoma State, Garden City Community College, Idaho and in the Canadian Football League. He also worked in the NFL as a scout for several teams.
Kendall is survived by his wife, Wanda, a one son, Heath, and a sister, Kay Brown.
