Rifle Team Lost Two Matches in Alaska

The Air Force Academy rifle team lost two matches against the University of Alaska in Fairbanks this weekend (Nov. 20-21). On Friday, Air Force lost, 4680-4600, on Saturday, they lost 4688-4608.
The team's highest scorer on Friday was Tom Chandler who shot a 587/600 in air rifle. In the top pairing, Chandler outshot Alaska's Cody Rutter, 100.2-96.7 in the rifle. Chandler also shot a 580/600 in the smallbore. Robert Vasquez shot a 579 in air rifle and Pat Everson finished the day with a 574 in smallbore.
On Saturday, Chandler finished with a 591 in air rifle and 576 in smallbore. Vasquez scored 580 in air rifle; Everson scored a 577 in both rifles for a season-high aggregate 1154.
On Friday, the Falcons' preselected four-man air rifle team of Chandler (587), Vasquez with a personal best 579, Mike Seery (572) and Everson (567) scored a 2305. The smallbore team of Chandler (580), Everson (574), Seery (574) and Nick Krieger (567) scored 2295 points for a combined team total of 4600.
In Saturday's match, Chandler (591) Vasquez (580), Everson (577) and Seery (575) scored 2323 in air rifle. In smallbore, Chandler (576), Everson with a personal best 577, Seery (562) and Krieger (570) combined for a 2285 and a team aggregate 4608 points.
Alaska's score of 4680 on Friday was the highest rifle score in the nation this season.
The Falcons will host the Nanooks, at 8 a.m., on Thursday, Dec. 3, at the Cadet Gymnasium rifle range.
