Dear Air Force Supporters, The Air Force football team has had a great season thanks in large part to your support. We have been selected to play for the third consecutive year in the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl on Dec. 31, 2009 in Fort Worth, Texas. This is a fitting tribute to the young people in the Air Force football program and we could not be more excited or proud to represent the Academy and the men and women of the United States military. Being selected by the same bowl game three straight years is a tribute to the kind of consistent fan support we have generated since 2007. The last two years, with your generous support, we broke a trend of not selling tickets and traveling well to bowl games. The Academy has become a hot commodity in the bowl world because of our ability to sell tickets. We need your help to continue to build on that! The Air Force Academy Athletic Association is currently selling tickets for the Armed Forces Bowl. We have reduced the price from $40 to $20 per ticket for all military members; active, reserve or retired, as well as all our current season ticket holders, Pride Club members and Blue & Silver Club members. In addition, to the reduced prices, we are offering one free ticket per active duty, reserve or retired military member when they purchase a ticket at $20. The free ticket is available only for military members and does not include dependants. Fans who purchase tickets through the Air Force Ticket Office will receive a commemorative bowl gift after the first of the year. Once again this season, fans may also purchase a $25 ticket to the Air Force Pregame Tailgate at Amon G. Carter Stadium, which runs from 9 a.m. until kickoff. Show your support of the 2009 Fightin Falcons when they arrive at the tailgate and form a tunnel of "blue" for the team as they walk to the stadium. The bowl business remains as extremely competitive. Teams secure bids based on their ability to sell tickets and have fans in attendance. We need to prove that our performances the last two years is just the beginning and that we can consistently show that Air Force football is among the national leaders in bowl ticket sells and attendance. Please consider purchasing tickets for young airmen or cadets who may not be able to afford it themselves. Donated tickets are just $20 and your contribution may be tax deductible. Thanks to your generosity, we have been able to send over 5,000 people to the game that would otherwise not been able to attend. Help us support these deserving football players as they play in their third straight bowl game. At the same time, show your pride and support of Falcon Athletics. Tickets are available at the Air Force ticket office at 800-666-USAF or online at goairforcefalcons.com. We need your support now more than ever! Sincerely, |

We set a record with 12,000 tickets sold to the Armed Forces Bowl in 2007 and came back with just under 8,000 tickets sold last year. These efforts, along with the presence we had at the game with our pageantry helped the bowl to a record attendance figures. It was also a major reason that we have been selected to play in the game again this season.
