Air Force Falls Sunday At New Mexico, 17-2

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Air Force baseball dropped a 17-2 Mountain West Conference game at New Mexico Sunday afternoon at Isotopes Park. The Falcons fell to 5-9, 0-3 on the season while the Lobos improved to 16-3, 3-0.
New Mexico erupted for 23 hits on the day. A five-run third and eight-run fourth by the Lobos put the game away early. UNM starter Bobby Moore improved to 3-0 on the year after holding the Falcons to no run on four hits in six innings pitched.
Dane Hamilton and Kevin Atkinson had four hits apiece and Rafael Neda, Daniel Gonzalez and Justin Howard homered for the Lobos.
Air Force starter Aaron Kurcz (1-2) took the loss, allowing seven runs in 2.1 innings pitched. Casey Allen, Mike Kazakoff, Evan Abrecht, Brad Pingel and Matt Barattino followed in relief for the Falcons.
The Falcons had seven hits on the day. K.J. Randhawa, Blair Roberts and Jake Byorth had two hits each to lead the way for AFA.
Air Force returns to action Tuesday, March 17, hosting Colorado Christian. Live internet radio and stats will be available for the game.
