Air Force Drops 9-6 Ballgame At Presbyterian

CLINTON, S.C. - Air Force baseball dropped a 9-6 game at Presbyterian Tuesday afternoon at the P.C. Baseball Complex. The loss drops the Falcons to 7-12 on the season, while the Blue Hose improved to 4-15.
Presbyterian tagged Air Force starter Alex Truesdale (2-4) for seven run in the first two innings and never looked back. The Blue Hose had 16 hits in the game and took advantage of four Falcon errors.
Air Force had eight hits in the game with Addison Gentry and Jon McMahon recording two hits each. McMahon also led the Falcons with three RBIs.
Presbyterian starting pitcher and leadoff hitter Jesse Harmon (2-1) earned the win with three predetermined innings pitched. Harmon also helped himself out at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored. Cory Lyda and Drew Wingo also had three hits for the Blue Hose. Daniel Hill picked up the save for PC with 2.1 hitless innings pitched.
Presbyterian scored three runs in the first to go ahead 3-0. Air Force rallied to tie the game in the second with a two-RBI double by McMahon followed by an RBI double by Adam Hill.
The tied was short lived as the Blue Hose responded with four runs in the bottom-half of the inning. Presbyterian tacked on two more runs in the fifth to lead 9-3. Air Force chipped away at the PC lead with two runs in the sixth and one in the seventh, but failed to plate any more runs.
Air Force got a solid relief outing from senior Jason Griggs. Griggs went 5.1 innings, holding the Blue Hose to two runs. Freshman Andrew Loyd also pitched in relief inducing a doubleplay to the one batter he faced.
The Falcons return to action Wednesday, March 25 at Savannah State. First pitch is slated for 5 p.m. EST.
