U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. - Ten nationally televised games, 12 consecutive Saturday games and visits to Falcon Stadium by Nicholls State, San Diego State, TCU, Wyoming, Army and UNLV highlight the 2009 Air Force football schedule, released today by the Mountain West Conference. The Falcons will play one game on VERSUS in high definition, five on the CBS College Sports Network (CBS C) in high definition and four on the MountainWest Sports Network (The Mtn).
Air Force opens the season against Nicholls State on Saturday, Sept. 5, at noon in Falcon Stadium in a non-televised game. The team then plays back-to-back road games, visiting Minnesota on Saturday, Sept. 12, before opening conference play at New Mexico Sept. 19 at 5:30 p.m. on CBS C. The Minnesota game's kickoff time and television are to be determined. The game will be the first played in the school's new TCF Bank Stadium.
Air Force returns to Falcon Stadium for its home conference opener with San Diego State on Saturday, Sept. 26, at noon. The Falcons open Commander-in-Chief's Trophy play at Navy on Saturday, Oct. 3. The game will be televised by CBS C, but kickoff time is to be determined. Air Force then plays consecutive conference home games, starting with TCU on Oct. 10 at 5:30 p.m. on CBS C and vs. Wyoming on Oct. 17 at noon on The Mtn.
The Falcons return to the road for a pair of games, starting with defending MWC champion Utah on Oct. 24 at 2 p.m. on VERSUS. The Falcons play Halloween afternoon at Colorado State at 2 p.m. with the game televised on The Mtn.
Army comes to town on Saturday, Nov. 7, with a 1:30 p.m. kickoff and the game will air on CBS C. The Falcons close out the home schedule with a visit from UNLV on Nov. 14 at 4 p.m. on The Mtn. Air Force wraps up the regular season at Brigham Young on Saturday, Nov. 21, at 1:30 p.m. on CBS C.
