The Air Force football game against Navy on Saturday is officially sold out, according to an announcement today from Air Force Associate Athletic Director for Ticketing and Marketing Chris Peludat. A capacity crowd in excess of 46,692 is expected and fans are urged to arrive early for the game, which begins at 12:30 p.m. Academy gates open at 8:30 a.m. and stadium gates will be open at 10:30 a.m.
The consecutive sell outs mark just the second in school history and first since 1972 when the Academy hosted Notre Dame (48,671) and Colorado (47,191). Saturday's game will also mark the first time since 2002 that there have been three consecutive crowds of over 40,000. That year Air Force hosted Navy (48,550), BYU (42,214) and Notre Dame (56,409). Air Force hosted 40,236 in this season's opener Sept. 4 against Northwestern State and had a sellout of 46,692 against BYU Sept. 11 in the last home game.
