Air Force Hosts UNLV in 2010 Season Finale

The Air Force volleyball team closes out the 2010 campaign this Friday (Nov. 26) when it hosts travel-partner UNLV in a Mountain West Conference matchup at 7 p.m. The match, held in Falcon Court at East Gym, will be a Senior Night Celebration for Air Force's seven seniors - Emily Frick, Julia Hansen, Jessica Hellmann, Caroline Kurtz, Jacqueline Norton, Kelly Spencer and Nichole Stilwell.
PROMOTIONS
Friday, Nov. 26, is Fan Appreciation Night and all tickets are only $1. It is also the Falcon Fan Toy and Food Drive, so any fan donating a toy or canned food item will receive free admission to the match.

LAST TIME WE MET
Air Force opened the 2010 conference season in Las Vegas on Sept. 24, falling in three to the host Rebels. Nichole Stilwell led the Falcons with 12 kills and a .346 hitting percentage. Stilwell was also one of three Falcons to accumulate a pair of assisted blocks, joining Julia Hansen and Preslee Maki. Josalynn Wise collected 10 assists, and Jessica Hellmann added nine, while Kelly Spencer led the team with nine digs.
HIT ME WITH YOUR BEST SHOT, PART I
The Falcons hit a season-best .366 at San Diego State on Nov. 20, as they connected on 44 of 101 swings, while committing a season-low seven errors. The team's average was dramatically better than their previous season high of .248 - also achieved against the Aztecs in October.
HIT ME WITH YOUR BEST SHOT, PART II
Four of the Falcons' five attackers hit better than .400 at San Diego State on Nov. 20. Nichole Stilwell hit at a .462 clip, connecting on seven of 13 attempts, while posting just a single error. Julia Hansen (.444, 4k-0e-9a), Annalyse Schmitt (.429, 13k-1e-28a) and Cami Richan (.400, 8k-0e-22a) all hit at least .400 in the match.
DOUBLE TROUBLE
Caroline Kurtz recorded her 11th double-double of the season and the 23rd of her career during the Nov. 20 match at San Diego State. Kurtz put down 12 kills and scooped up an additional 12 digs in the match.
A HELPING HAND
With 37 assists against San Diego State, Jessica Hellmann moved into ninth on the program's Division I single-season record book. For the season, she has totaled 638 helpers - easily jumping over the previous No. 9 spot of 615. It is the second-highest single-season assist performance of Hellmann's career.
AROUND THE MOUNTAIN
In the Mountain West Conference rankings, Caroline Kurtz is ranked second in the kills, with a per-set average of 3.60, and tied for fifth in points-per-set with a 3.86 average. Jessica Hellmann is ranked eighth in assists, as she averages 6.51 helpers per set, while Kelly Spencer is ranked ninth in digs with 3.24 per set.
