THE COMPETITION AT A GLANCE
Arizona State is a club team under the direction of Scott Barclay. ASU has already faced the Falcons once this season, with Air Force earning the 325.850-319.400 decision at the Rocky Mountain Open. That score is the highest of the season for Arizona State.
RANK YOU VERY MUCH
Individually, in the new rankings based on the new three-score ranking system, junior Nash Mills is ranked 16th in the all-around with an average of 80.750 and 17th on the vault with a 15.667 average. As a team, the Falcons have averaged a score of 61.833 on the vault, which is ranked 11th on the national leader board.
FALCONS ADD STANFORD TO HOME MEET
Stanford, ranked fourth in this week's national rankings, will join Air Force and Illinois-Chicago during the Falcons' home meet on Friday, March 5. However, Sunday's meet will remain a dual meet between Air Force and the Flames.
FALCONS TALLY SEASON-BEST SCORE AT NEBRASKA
The Falcons set a season-high score of 332.700 - the eighth-best score in Academy history - at the Nebraska Quad Meet on Feb. 21. Highlighted by season-best scores on the parallel bars and high bar, the Falcons improved their season total by nearly three points. The Falcons' score on the parallel bars (54.800) is tied for the eighth-best score in program history, while the high bar mark (53.700) is eighth, outright, in the Academy record book.
BACK TO THE VAULT
The Falcons shined on the vault at Nebraska, tallying a four-man score of 62.200 - a total just .100 off of the program standard. Joel Uptmor tied for third on that event with a career-best 15.750 (the third-best score in program history). Travis Langham moved into fifth on the program's all-time list with a personal-best score of 15.650, while Nash Mills and Devin Menefee recorded respective scores of 15.450 and 15.250.
LANGHAM LEADS THE WAY
Freshman Travis Langham recoded career-best marks on three of his four events at Nebraska on Feb. 21. Besides scoring a 15.650 on the vault, he also tallied a 14.300 on the floor exercise and a 13.750 on the high bar. In addition, he nearly matched his personal-best score on the still rings with a score of 13.100.
WHAT'S AHEAD FOR THE FALCONS
The Falcons return home for their final two meets of the season on March 5 and March 7. Friday's meet is a triangular competition with Stanford and Illinois-Chicago, while Sunday's meet will be a dual meet between the Falcons and Flames. During Sunday's meet, Air Force will honor its senior co-captains Garrett Canter and Brennan Wolford, who will be competing in their final regular season home meet.
