Falcons Close Out Regular Season Against Arizona State, Washington

The No. 12 Air Force men's gymnastics team will wrap up the regular season on Friday, March 19, when it travels to Tucson, Ariz., for a neutral site competition against No. 18 Arizona State and Washington. It will be the second time in the past month that the Falcons have traveled to Arizona for a meet with the Sun Devils. The triangular meet will be held at the Bear Down Gym and is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.

LET'S MEET THE COMPETITION
Ranked 18th in the nation, Arizona State is a club team under the direction of Scott Barclay. ASU has already faced the Falcons twice this season, with Air Force earning a 325.850-319.400 decision at the Rocky Mountain Open and a 335.900-333.600 victory last month in Tempe. Washington is a club team coached by Mark Russo. The Falcons defeated the Huskies, 325.850-277.950, earlier this year at the Rocky Mountain Open.
RANK YOU VERY MUCH
Sophomore Devin Menefee is ranked sixth in the nation on the still rings with a three-score average of 15.150, while junior Nash Mills is ranked 12th in the all-around (86.083) and 15th on the parallel bars (14.700). As a team, the Falcons are ranked sixth on the still rings (58.850) and 10th on the pommel horse (55.100) and vault (62.333).
FALCONS PERFECT ON EAST COAST TRIP
The Falcons posted a perfect 3-0 record on their East Coast road trip over the March 12-14 weekend. Air Force defeated service academy rival Army by 10 points (340.400-330.200) on Friday night, before scoring its second-highest score ever (342.950) to win the Pride Triangular over William and Mary (337.800) and Springfield College (336.650).
AIR FORCE GETS THE WIN
Backed by a strong final rotation, the Falcons dominated the Pride Triangular on Sunday, March 14. Down by a point heading into the final rotation, Air Force scored its second highest vault score ever (62.350) to defeat the field by over five points. The Falcons accumulated a team score of 342.950 - also the second-best score in Academy history - to defeat William and Mary (337.800) and Springfield (336.650).
VAULTING AWAY
Travis Langham and Joel Uptmor paced the Falcons on the vault, tying for first with scores of 15.750. Langham set a career-best tally, while Uptmor matched his personal-best mark on that event. Nash Mills tied for third with a score of 15.550, while Devin Menefee placed sixth with a score of 15.300.
TWO FOR KLIMKOWSKI
Dan Klimkowski picked up a pair of event titles during the Falcons' tri-meet at Springfield on March 14. He won the pommel horse with a career-best 14.300, while placing first on the still rings with a score of 14.500.
FALCONS TAKE DOWN ARMY
Collecting four event titles, Air Force downed service academy rival Army by over 10 points on Friday, March 12. Surpassing the 340-point total for the third straight meet, the Falcons set team records on the pommel horse and high bar.
MILL'ING AROUND
Nash Mills earned a share of two event titles and the top all-around spot to pace the Falcons against the Black Knights on March 12. Mills won the vault (15.600), while sharing the top spot on the high bar (14.150) with Joel Uptmor and Garrett Canter. Mills also finished second on the still rings (14.250) and tallied a career-best score of 13.900 on the pommel horse to win the all-around.
MORE TITLES FOR THE FALCONS
In addition to his share of the high bar title, Joel Uptmor placed first on the floor exercise with a score of 14.550, while Devin Menefee won his fourth still rings title in as many meets with a tally of 14.850.
WHAT'S AHEAD FOR THE FALCONS
Air Force opens the championship season on March 26-27, when it hosts the USA Gymnastics Collegiate Championships at the Cadet West Gym.
