USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - The Air Force cross country team participated in a Mission Partner Initiative event this past Monday (Oct. 3), as the three elements of Academy life - academics, military and athletics - came together for a dinner hosted by Brig Gen Richard Clark, the Academy's Commandant of Cadets.
The Mission Partner Initiative, in its first year, was created to bring together the Academy's three mission elements. The Air Force cross country team (athletics) was joined at Otis House by members of Cadet Squadron 32 (military) and the Department of Computer Science (academics).
"It was great to interact and get to know CS-32 and the computer science department," senior Alex Zubey said of the event, which featured dinner, socializing, video games and a Choco Taco eating contest, which earned junior manager Riley Feeney bragging rights as the winner among the three mission elements.
The Mission Partner Initiative for the cross country team got underway in early September, as members of CS-32 attended the Falcons' season-opening meet in Colorado Springs to cheer on Air Force.
