Falcons Close Out Day One at PING Cougar Classic

After two rounds of action, the Air Force golf team sits in 14th place at the PING Cougar Classic, hosted by BYU at the par-72, 7,142-yard Riverside Country Club. On Friday, the Falcons turned in a team score of 594 (+18).
Senior Kyle Bailey (Austin, Texas), who is currently tied for 17th place to lead the Falcons, fired a 70 (-2) in the second round to finish the day with an even-par 144. Freshman Kyle Westmoreland (Katy, Texas) is next in the standings for Air Force, tied for 46th place at 148.
Robert Belz (Jr., San Antonio, Texas), competing in his first tournament of the spring, turned in a 151 on the first day of action and is tied for 67th place, while Philip Colwell (Fr., The Woodlands, Texas) sits a stroke behind in a tie for 72nd place. Rounding out the group for Air Force is Caleb Leestma (Jr., Seabrook, Texas), who is tied for 84th place with a score of 154.
UNLV currently sits in first place in the team standings with a score of 565 (-11), while the Rebels' Kevin Penner sits atop the individual leaderboard with a 9-under-par 135.
The final round of the Cougar Classic is slated to begin tomorrow morning with an 8:22 a.m. shotgun start.
