Air Force Baseball Downed By San Diego State Thursday

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Right fielder Chris Wilson hit three home runs to lead San Diego State past Air Force 15-1 Thursday afternoon at Falcon Field. The loss dropped the Falcons to 14-24, 0-8, while the Aztecs improved to 12-26, 6-7.
San Diego State hit four homers on the day, as Brandon Meredith also added a long-ball. The Aztecs had 18 hits on the day, plating runs in seven different innings.
Air Force was held to six hits on the day. SDSU starting pitcher Corey Black (2-3) held the Falcons to one run off five hits in eight innings, striking out six.
After scoring a run in the first inning, AFA was unable to put any more runs in the game. San Diego State broke open a close 4-1 game with five runs in the sixth inning to pull out to a 9-1 lead.
Garrett Custons led Air Force at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double. Alex Bast drew two walks and scored the Falcons' lone run. Nathan Carter had an RBI-double in the first inning.
Starting pitcher Evan Abrecht (5-5) took the loss, pitching 5.2 innings and striking out three. Jack Hourin, Luke Dorlac, Mike Kazakoff and Kincaid Koehler pitched in relief.
Wilson and Meredith led the Aztecs offensively. Wilson went 4-for-6 with four RBIs and Meredith went 3-for-5 with three RBIs.
Game two of the three-game series is tomorrow at 2 p.m.
