Brian Lux Named Assistant Women's Soccer Coach

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Brian Lux was recently named Air Force women's soccer volunteer assistant coach, announced today by head coach Larry Friend. Lux will work primarily with developing the goalkeepers.
"I'm very excited to have Brian join the women's soccer program," Friend said. "He brings a lot of enthusiasm and energy to our training environment. He has a lot of respect for the Air Force Academy and understands the challenges our athletes must face to be successful. We all look forward to working with him this season."
In addition to his duties at the Academy, Lux also serves as the Director of Coaching for juniors and goalkeepers with the Rush Pikes Peak Soccer Club.
Lux is a 2007 graduate of Denver University. He was a standout goalkeeper for two seasons (2002-03) at DU. Lux began his collegiate career at Drury University, playing two years there before transferring to Denver. A native of Lakewood, Colo., Lux received League MVP honors his senior year while attending Lakewood High School.
Lux also played with the Fort Wayne Fever of the PDL and was captain of the Denver Kickers (NPSL) team that won back to back U-23 National Championships and a runner-up finish at the US Amateur Cup. As a youth player, Brian was an original member of the Lakewood Fury/Colorado Rush Nike '80/'81 team that won 6 consecutive state championships, 2 regional championships and a 3rd place finish at nationals. He also played with the Colorado ODP team that won the regional championship.
Brian holds a USSF "B" License and USSF Youth License as well as an NSCAA National Diploma. He is a Colorado ODP Staff Coach and is currently on the Regional Staff for Region II. Brian received his Bachelor's Degree in Physics from the University of Denver.
