The Falcons have scored at least 70 points in each game this season after reaching that plateau just five times last season.
"We want to attack the basket," said Air Force head coach Dave Pilipovich. "If that means pushing the ball, then we do. If we have an open look six to eight seconds into the possession, we will take it because sometimes it is harder to manufacture a good shot later in the shot clock."
Fletcher sank five of his six three-point attempts, including back-to-back bombs midway through the second half to cap a 13-0 Falcon run and give Air Force a 58-29 lead. Fletcher, who entered the game ranked No. 2 in the country in assist-turnover ratio, added five assists and committed just one turnover.
"Todd has been distributing the ball great lately and now he's making shots," said Pilipovich. "He's more relaxed this season."
Michael Lyons had 14 points and seven rebounds, while Mike Fitzgerald scored a season-high 13 points. Freshman Cameron Michael pulled down a career-high seven boards as Air Force outrebounded Jackson State 42-24, the largest margin against a Division I team since the 1996-97 campaign (+19 vs. Wofford).
"We need to get better on the defensive end and we better limit second shots," said Pilipovich. "Great rebounding is something we are going to see Sunday (vs. Wichita State) and in the Mountain West. It's all about effort. That's the ball, you get it and don't let them get it."
The Falcons face unbeaten Wichita State (7-0) on Sunday, Dec. 2 at Clune Arena as part of the Mountain West / Missouri Valley Challenge. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 3 p.m.
