Air Force athletes visit Bear Creek Elementary

Members of several different athletic teams from the Air Force Academy are visiting Bear Creek Elementary School in Monument, Colo., this month. The first of six visits kicked off on Feb. 3 with a presentation to fourth graders, followed by visits on Feb. 7 and 8 to second and third grade students. The visits are with grades kindergarten through fourth grade and the cadets are talking to the students about their respective sports, the importance of academics, sportsmanship and what it takes to be an athlete.
The visits were organized by Air Force cheer coach Laura Hutcheon and conclude later this month with visits on Feb. 10 with kindergarten and Feb. 15 and 22 with first graders. To view video of members of the women's basketball team's visit on Feb. 7 and football team member's visit, click here.
