Falcons in FIfth Place After Two Rounds at Desert Shootout

The Air Force golf team is in fifth place after the second round of the 2012 Desert Shootout in Goodyear, Ariz. The Falcons shot a two-under par total of 286 Friday on the par-72, 7,015-yard Palm Valley Golf Course for a two-round total of seven-under par 569, three shots behind fourth-place San Diego.Air Force senior Robert Belz continues to be the team's top individual and is tied for ninth place after firing an even-par 72 on Friday. He remains at four-under par for the tournament. Junior Andrew Hoops and sophomore Kyle Westmoreland each shot a team-best 71 on Friday and are tied for 23rd place with a two-round total of one-under par 143.
Freshman Blake Edwards equaled his career-best with an even-par 72 and is tied for 39th place while senior Caleb Leestma is tied for 55th after shooting a 76 on Friday.
The final round begins on Saturday, March 24 with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m.
