Falcons lose two in So Cal Tourney

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. - The Air Force water polo team dropped a pair of games to nationally-ranked teams at the SoCal Tournament, Saturday, Oct. 11, in Los Angles, Calif.

In the opening game, 15^th-ranked Air Force fell to fourth-ranked USC, 12-5. USC led 4-1 at the end of the first, but the Falcons battled back with two goals in the second to trail 5-3 at the half. However, in the second half, USC out-scored Air Force, 7-3. Robby Stiefel, Ben Rogers, Riley Thomas, Dominic Vicino and Justin Harrison all scored for the Falcons.

In the second game of the day, eighth-ranked Pepperdine scored three goals in the fourth quarter to pull away from Air Force in the 12-8 victory over the Falcons. Stiefel and Thomas each scored two goals for Air Force. The Falcons trailed 9-8 after three quarters, but gave up three unanswered goals in the fourth.

Air Force continues competition in the SoCal Tournament on Sunday, Oct. 12, in Los Angeles, Calif.
