Falcons in 11th after First Round of Maryland Invitational

ROCKVILLE, Md. - The Air Force golf team sits in 11th after the first round of competition at the Maryland Terrapin Invitational, which began on Monday, Oct. 13. The Falcons shot an 18-over par score of 306 during the opening round of play at the Woodmont Country Club in Rockville, before action was suspended in the second round by fog.
Senior Blake Edwards led the Falcons through the first 18 holes, tying for 12th with a one-over par score of 73. Sophomore Sunwoo Choi is tied for 21st with an opening round score of 75 (three-over par), while sophomore Brenden Bone, freshman Sutton Farmer and classmate Dane Hankamer are all tied for 56th with matching scores of 79 (seven-over par).
Freshman Kyle Fuller, competing as an individual, is currently tied for third in the 75-golfer field, carding a score of 70 to finish the first round at two-under par.
Loyola (Maryland) currently leads the team standings with a one-under par score of 287, while George Mason's Kyle Hart is the individual leader, after opening the invitational with a four-under par score of 68.
The Falcons wrap up competition at the Maryland Terrapin Invitational tomorrow (Oct. 14) morning. The golfers return to the Woodmont Country Club at 8:30 a.m., to complete the second round before beginning the final 18 holes.
