Air Force Finishes 12th at Maryland Terrapin Invitational

ROCKVILLE, Md. - The Air Force golf team wrapped up action at the Maryland Terrapin Invitational this afternoon (Oct. 14) in Rockville, finishing 12th overall with a three-round score of 923. Senior Blake Edwards paced the team for the second straight week, tying for 20th in the individual standings.
Edwards, who claimed his second top-20 finish in as many weeks, fired a one-under par 71 in the second round, before recording an 80 during the final 18 holes to finish with a three-round score of 224. Sophomore Brenden Bone tied for 42nd with a two-day score of 231, after scoring a 74 in the second and a 78 in the third, while classmate Sunwoo Choi tied for 50th with a combined mark of 234 (79 in the second, 80 in the third). Freshmen Sutton Farmer and Dane Hankamer rounded out the Falcons' lineup, finishing tied for 56th and 72nd, respectively. Farmer shot a 75 and 81 during the second day of play, while Hankamer recorded scores of 78 and 88 in the final two rounds.
The Falcons shot a 298 in the second round, which spanned two days, after yesterday's action was suspended by fog, and climbed into 10th, but recorded a third-round score of 319 to finish 59-over par (923 total) in the 12-team field.
Competing as an individual, freshman Kyle Fuller tied for 24th with a nine-over par score of 225, shooting a 79 and 76 during the final two rounds of play.
Maryland won its home tournament with a four-over par score of 868, while George Mason's Kyle Hart and Elon's Jonathan Dilanni tied for the individual title with matching two-under scores of 214.
Air Force closes out the fall season next week, when it travels to El Paso, Texas, for the Price's GiveEm 5 Invitational over the Oct. 24-26 weekend.
