
Elder & Schenk Earn Madness All-WAC Honors

Air Force men's soccer placed a pair of players on the College Madness 2014 All-Western Athletic Conference Team, announced today. Sophomore defender Blake Elder and sophomore goalkeeper Jake Schenk were named to the All-WAC team.
Schenk earned first team honors after putting together an outstanding season in front of the net for the Falcons. Schenk started 17 of 18 matches for the Falcons, missing one game due to illness. He posted a 0.93 goals-allowed average to go with 82 saves in 1,549 minutes. The Flemington, N.J. native posted the second-lowest GAA in school history and ranked amongst the top three in the conference in saves, GAA and shutouts per game.
Elder earned second team honors for the Falcons. The Fort Worth, Texas, native started all 18 matches for AFA and tied for fifth on the team with four points scored, tallying one goal and two assists. Elder was one of just three Falcons to start all 18 matches. He was a part of the Falcon defense that posted six shutouts on the season.
Air Force recently capped a 7-7-4 season. The Falcons are slated to return seven starters in 2015.
