Rifle team finished second in inaugural PRC Championships

Following the air rifle match on Sunday, the University of Alaska-Fairbanks was the PRC champions and Air Force finished in second place.The final team scores were: Alaska 1st (4702), Air Force 2nd (4649), TCU 3rd (4647), OSU 4th (4639) and Nevada-Reno 5th (4565).
All teams shot air rifle on Sunday, and Alaska scored a 2363 followed by Air Force (2346), TCU (2341), OSU (2334) and Nevada (2305).
On Saturday, Alaska was the team leader with 2339 points followed by TCU (2306), OSU (2305), Air Force (2303) and Nevada (2260).
Air Force had two team members with high scores in both matches.In air rifle, Meredith Carpentier shot a 592 and David Higgins was the team leader in smallbore with a 581. The Air Force team score win at the PRC surpassed the team's winning score from a separate match against Akron on Friday, 4638-4616. Air Force is 10-6 for the season and 6-2 in the PRC.
