
Falcons Still in Fourth at Mtn. West Championships

The Air Force golf team remains in fourth place after the second round of the 2014 Mountain West Championships, being held at the par-71, 7,144-yard Catalina Course at OMNI Tucson National. The Falcons shot an 11-over par total of 295 on Saturday for a two round total of 582 (+14).
Senior Kyle Westmoreland continues to lead the Falcons after firing his second consecutive one-under par 70. He has a two-round total of 140 (-2) and is in fourth place, one shot back of tournament leaders Gavin Green and Victor Perez of New Mexico and San Diego State's Riccardo Michelini. Westmoreland had a stretch of four birdies in eight holes midway through his round on Saturday, but bogeyed No. 16 to fall back to -2.
Senior Philip Colwell is in a tie for 19th place at 146 (+4) after shooting a three-over par 74 on Saturday. Colwell also posted four birdies in the second round, but had five bogeys and a double bogey during his round. Freshman Sunwoo Choi is one shot back at 147 (+5) after a four-over par 75 and is tied for 22nd place.
Senior Jack Howard shot a five-over par 76 and is tied for 28th at 149 (+7) while senior Todd Berglund is tied for 42nd after shooting a 79 on Saturday.
New Mexico continues to hold the team lead with a nine-shot advantage over second place San Diego State. The Lobos are at 560 (-8) after two rounds.
The final round of the Mountain West Championships will begin Sunday morning at 7 a.m. (PT).
