All,
Last December, as a professional courtesy, I spoke with our athletic director Dr. Mueh of my intention to retire. Since January 1976, my tenure as head boxing coach and instructor in the athletic department has been a tremendous honor. The entire Academy collegiate experience has helped me grow and mature into a better person. I am healthy, happy, have a great attitude and blessed with the best job in America. I am also blessed with an amazing, gorgeous wife, beautiful family and friends. I am retiring with a deep respect for military service, sacrifice and the mission at this special place called USAFA. I depart with a happy heart and on my terms with no regrets. It is just time to hang up the gloves. Thank you for the opportunity of a lifetime. It has been a privilege to serve and mentor. I will remain forever grateful.
In Your Corner,
Coach Ed Weichers
