UNLV with huge lead in Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. - In the first two rounds of the 46th annual Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational, the UNLV golf team fired a two-round total of 21-under par to open up a huge lead on the Blue Course (par 72, 7,401-yard) at the Academy's Eisenhower Golf Club. After the first two rounds, Colorado is in second place at 8-under while Colorado State is in third at 1-under. Air Force is in 11th place at 12-over par.

The Rebels were 8-under in the first round and a 13-under in the second round. UNLV holds the top two spots in the individual rankings. A.J. McInerney shot a 66 in the first round and a 68 in the second for a two-round total of 134 (10-under). Fellow rebel, Taylor Montgomery, is second with a 135 (9-under) as he carded a 70-65. Antoine Rozner (UMKC) is third with a 6-under 138.

Air Force's top individual was Dane Hankamer who is tied for 17th at 1-under par. Hankamer shot a 73 in the first round and a 2-under 70 in the second round. Air Force's Blake Edwards and Sunwoo Choi are tied for 34th, each with a 2-over-par 146.

The final 18 holes of the tournament begin at 7:30 a.m. MT on the Blue Course at Eisenhower Golf Club on the Air Force Academy. Follow live stats on BirdieFire.com. --30--
