Friday, Jan. 9 -Competing in Division 1 Men's Foil, were Alexander Chiang and Nicholas Pollack. Chiang, who was undefeated in the pools (6-0) placed 36th among the 160 competitors. Chiang advanced to the top 64 after winning his bout, 15-10, but did not advance further after losing to his next opponent, 11-15. Pollack lost his bout 4-15 in the top 128 and tied for 111th. Ryan Andrieux was the Falcons' only Junior Men's Saber competitor; he finished the tournament tied for 123rd place.
Saturday, Jan. 10 - Elias Johnson along with Nathan Lee and James Salem competed in Division 1 Men's Epee. Lee placed 34th among 253 competitors. Salem tied for 100th place, and Johnson placed 171st.
On Saturday, in the Junior Women's Foil tournament, Nichole Quattrociocchi failed to advance to the DE rounds and tied for 97th place.
Sunday, Jan. 11 - Emiliano Kaptain placed 92nd among the 142 Division 1 Men's Saber competitors. Kaptain was 3-3 in pools and lost 12-15 in the top 128.
Monday, Jan. 12 - In Division 1 Women's Foil, Madeleine Girardot placed 19th among 109 fencers. Girardot was 5-1 in pools, advancing to the top 32 after earning a BYE, and a win against her opponent Justine Ban bury, 15-13. In table 32, Girardot lost to Natalie Yang, 8-15 and was unable to advance further in the competition, placing 19th. Nichole Quattrociocchi placed 97th.
Elias Johnson and Nathan Lee also competed in the Junior Men's Epee tournament. Johnson finished 130th in the field of 168. Lee placed 49th in the tournament.
The Air Force Academy will host the 2015 Western Invitational fencing tournament on Saturday, Jan. 17 at the USAFA Cadet Gym (east gym). The event is open to the public.
