
Air Force Wrestling Drops Sunday Dual at Stanford

PALO ALTO, Calif. - Air Force wrestling dropped a 27-8 dual at Stanford Sunday night in front of a nationally televised audience at Burnham Pavilion. The Falcons (5-3) were led by junior Josh Martinez and sophomore Conor O'Hara.
In a dual televised by the Pac 12 Networks, the Cardinal won the first five weight classes and eight of ten on the night. The Falcons posted wins at 125 pounds by Martinez and at 141 pounds by O'Hara.
In a matchup of two ranked opponents, it was ninth-ranked Martinez that got AFA its first individual win with a 7-2 decision over 15th ranked Evan Silver. O'Hara picked up a techinical fall (16-0) over Jordan Bryan for the second Falcon win.
Freshman Michael Billingsley competed at 165 pounds and junior Konner Witt at 174 for Air Force. Freshman Zen Ikehara dropped his match at 184 pounds , senior Jack Carda competed at 184 and senior Marcus Malecek lost his match at 285.
Sophomore Anthony McHugh dropped a decision at 133 pounds, sophomore Jerry McGinty lost at 149 and freshman Jordan Wengreen dropped his match at 157.
Air Force returns to action next Friday, Jan. 23, at Utah Valley.
