Air Force Concludes First Day of UTEP Tournament

EL PASO, Texas -- The Air Force golf team wrapped up the first day of competition at Price's Give'Em Five Invitational this afternoon (Oct. 23) in El Paso, Texas. Finishing the first 18 holes with a two-under par of 286, the Falcons are tied for ninth with UT San Antonio and San Jose State.
Sophomore J.D. Kiesewetter, in his first tournament of the season, is the Falcons' leader after the first day of competition, using a three-under score of 69 to tie for 11th. Junior Brenden Bone also recorded a top-20 placement on the first day, carding a two-under par 70 to tie for 18th. Classmate Sunwoo Choi is tied for 41st with an even-par 72, while sophomore Sutton Farmer and freshman Bryant Falconello rounded out the squad's first-day performers tied for 67th (three-over 75) and 76th (four-over 76), respectively.
Sophomore Dane Hankamer, competing as an individual at Price's Give'Em Five, tied with Farmer and seven other golfers for 67th, after posting a three-over round of 75 on Friday.
Tournament host UTEP currently leads the team standings with a 15-under par tally of 273, while UMKC's Antoine Rozner leads the individual standings with a nine-under score of 63.
The Falcons return to Butterfield Trail Golf Club tomorrow (Oct. 23) for the second 18 holes of the Price's Give'Em Five Invitational. Action is scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m.
