U.S. Air Force Academy, Colo. - Dec. 8, 2015: This week's Air Force rifle athlete of the week is junior Ryan Jacobs with combine aggregates of 1171 and 1859.2. Jacobs scored the 1171 in the match against Ohio State on Dec. 3, and scored the 1859.2 in the three-day 2015 Winter Airgun Championships at the Olympic Training Center, Dec. 4-6.
Against OSU, Jacobs shot a 578 smallbore score and 593 in the air rifle. His air rifle score was the second highest in the match against the Buckeyes. Jacobs was the third highest scorer (1171) overall. His scores were a personal best against OSU by 26 total points.
At the Winter Airgun Championships, Jacobs competed in the 10m air rifle men's championships and finished 11th overall among 120 of the nations' top competitors. His three days of scoring included a 619.6, 619.8, and a 619.8 (1859.2). Jacobs beat his aggregate score from 2014 by 15.5 points.
