Air Force Continues Action at Loyola Golf Invitational

GOODYEAR, Ariz. - The Air Force golf team shot a 297 this afternoon (Feb. 23) to remain in 10th after two days of competition at the Loyola Golf Invitational, sponsored by The Neville Kovacs Group. Competing at the 7,015-yard Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Ariz., the Falcons have compiled a two-day score of 599 (23 over par).
Sophomore Sunwoo Choi shot a one-over par 73 today to tie for seventh on the overall leaderboard with a two-day, one-under par, total of 143. After firing a two-over 74 on the second 18, freshman J.D. Kiesewetter moved up 11 places in the individual standings to tie for 50th with a two-round tally of 151 (+7). Junior Michael Fan and senior Blake Edwards both carded a 75 in the second round to sit in a tie for 56th (152, eight over) and 63rd (153, nine over), respectively. Sophomore Brenden Bone rounded the Falcons lineup, as he scored a 77 today to tie for 81st in the standings with a two-day score of 157.
Freshman Dane Hankamer and sophomore Troy Berglund, competing as individuals at the Loyola Golf Invitational, are tied for 75th and 81st, respectively. Hankamer shot an 80 on the second 18 to compile a two-day score of 156, while Berglund improved by three strokes today (77) for a 36-hole score of 157.
Utah Valley continues to lead the team standings with two-round total of 569. The Wolverines also have the tournament's individual leader, as J.T. Timmons tops the leaderboard with a seven-under total of 137.
The Falcons conclude tournament play tomorrow (Feb. 24), with the final 18 holes at the Loyola Golf Invitational. An 8:00 a.m. shotgun start will kick off the day at the Palm Valley Golf Club.
