
James Salem finishes fifth in NCAA Fencing Championships

Columbus, Ohio - March 20 - Following the 2015 NCAA Men's Fencing Championships today, Air Force fencer James Salem finished fifth in the individual men's epee. In team standings, Air Force is currently in 10th place with 33 points. Ohio State is first with 84 team points.
In men's saber, Ryan Redhead finished 21st and Emiliano Kaptain placed 22nd. Alexander Chiang finished 17th in men's foil.
The women's championships are on Sat.-Sun. March 21-22. Madeleine Girardot and Mary McElwee will compete in the individual women's foil championships.
Air Force qualified six fencers for the NCAA Championships.
Ohio State is hosting the 2015 NCAA Fencing Championships, March 19-22, making it the second-consecutive year and fifth time hosting the event. Championship bouts are taking place in St. John Arena, while the rest of competition will occur in French Field House.
