Falcons Conclude First Day of Play in Virginia

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The Air Force golf team wrapped up the first day of action at the Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate this afternoon (March 22) in Williamsburg, Virginia. Finishing the day with an 11-over par score of 291, the Falcons are in eighth after the first 18 holes of the 30-team tournament.
Sophomore Sunwoo Choi and freshman Sutton Farmer are the Falcons' leaders after the first 18 holes, tying for 25th with matching two-over par scores of 72. Junior Michael Fan is tied for 40th with a three-over 73, while sophomore Brenden Bone is one stroke back (74) and tied for 50th. Freshman J.D. Kiesewetter carded a 79 in the first round (tied, 113th) to round out Air Force's five-man squad.
Radford and Loyola-Maryland are tied for the team lead with three-over par scores of 283, while Boston College's Nick Pandelena and High Point's Jack Sides are tied for first in the individual standings with matching three-under scores of 67.
The Falcons continue play at the Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate tomorrow (March 23) with the second round of action on the River Course at Kingsmill Resort. Air Force is scheduled to begin on the first tee at noon (EST).
